From Paralysis to Purpose. The 'quick money' promise quickly dissolved into a vast, overwhelming sea of information. A sea where I drowned in confusion.
After university, a single dream consumed me—moving to Lagos. This vibrant hub, the biggest city in my country, promised expansion for a young, intellectual woman like me brimming with dreams.
I craved that experience, believing Lagos held the key to a better life. I even started planning, but then, an insidious force crept in: procrastination, fueled more by numerous fears and 'what ifs' than any tangible obstacle.
My fears were concrete—no accommodation, no job waiting. An implied help that kept me circling. I was terrified of making such a huge move only to end up stranded, desperate, swallowed whole by the city. My Lagos move? another shelved dream.
Instead, almost by accident I veered into another long-held aspiration; building online income. I bought an affiliate marketing course, hoping for quick money to fast track and cushion my dream of moving to Lagos.
Unknowingly, I stepped onto a path that would ignite my journey to profound self-awareness and spiritual awakening.
The 'quick money' promise quickly dissolved into a vast, overwhelming sea of information. A sea where I drowned in confusion.
This confusion, though frustrating, served a crucial purpose, it ruthlessly exposed my own internal loopholes and lackings.
I realized I acted without a clear purpose beyond just making money.
A hunger gnawed inside me, but I didn't know what it craved. I lacked the basic personal structures required for consistency, the kind that led to results like Money.
But within that very course’s community, everything began to shift.
I started networking, meeting new people who were openly sharing knowledge about purpose, systems and structures, and consistency.
Clarity arrived, gained person by person, interaction by interaction. This newfound understanding prompted me to actively seek knowledge that helped me find my purpose (at least largely), gain true direction with my actions, and manage my life/time better.
Looking back, the overarching lesson is crystal clear: A life without purpose lacks direction, and without clarity of direction, fear will keep you from achieving your dreams and shrink you small.
My initial fear about Lagos wasn't just about the city; it was a symptom of a deeper lack of internal clarity and structure. The unexpected pivot to online work became the fire pit where I forged not just a new path, but a deeper understanding of myself and true forward momentum.
P.S: I finally made it to Lagos. With purpose, clarity and of course money to ensure my safety. Exactly where I needed to be ✨
